The Esther Guild is made up of women of all ages. It is a ministry reaching out to our church family and to friends outside of us. Meetings take place every other Thursday morning from September to May. Child care is provided so young mothers can attend. Each meeting is opened with devotions and a short business meeting. Decisions are made by the members who attend the meetings. A variety of projects are done. A considerable amount of time is devoted to making craft items for the annual school sale, with the proceeds going to the Plymouth Christian School. Clothing for the Bali mission orphanage is made. |
Among other things, each year the Esther Guild makes crafts for the annual school sale. |
After funerals, several women serve refreshments during the fellowship hour.
Favors for the Veteran’s Home, Christian Rest Home, Bethany Children’s Home, etc. are made. At Thanksgiving time fruit baskets and plants are distributed to widows, widowers, and older singles. Meals are supplied for families where the mother is ill or a new baby is born. Funds collected are sent to various missions and helping causes. Women of the church who wish to help others in these ways but are unable to attend the meetings are associate members.
All the activities of the Esther Guild can be summarized in “giving a cup of cold water to those in need.” This is the will of Christ. With the help of the Lord, this is the will of the Esther Guild.
